This statement relates to the privacy practices of the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in connection with its survey data collection website. The CSO fully respects your personal privacy rights and does not, as a general rule, collect personal information of any kind, without your clear permission. Any personal information which you volunteer to the CSO will be treated with the highest standard of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Our web site contains links to other sites. The CSO is not responsible for the privacy practices within any of these other sites. Your survey data
The survey data collection service is used as an online collection mechanism. Survey data collection does need some personal data in its own right for the functioning of the platform. If you enter data in our survey forms, this data is transmitted to us via a secure socket layer (SSL) connection, we hold these details for the length of time necessary to process the data and only use the details for the purpose for which it was obtained i.e. the processing of statistics.
If you email us or phone us using the contact details given on this site, the personal data you supply will be processed as per our Telecommunications Privacy Policy. We will hold these details for the length of time required for processing and we will only use the details for the purpose for which they were received. When you use our website, as with any website, some technical and usage information is logged automatically for analytical purposes.
When you complete our survey forms, all data is transmitted via a secure socket layer (SSL). The data is initially processed by a 3rd party IT company who support our systems providing Cloud infrastructure,used to support the platform on which the Survey Data Collection service runs. Data is regularlytransferred to internal CSO systems for further downstream processing, any data on the Cloud is then deleted.
Log data includes your IP address; device and browser details; date, time and duration of visit; and clickstream data (which records pages and documents accessed). This data is logged in our servers for the purpose of maintaining the security and quality of our website and is kept for 90 days to ensure the security and stability of the website.
We do not identify users from this technical data.
